Volleyball Preview: Boswell Pioneers vs. North Crowley Panthers
Boswell has gone 8-0 against North Crowley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Boswell Pioneers will welcome the North Crowley Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Boswell will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Boswell earned a 3-1 win over Mansfield Legacy.
The final score came out to 25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 27-25.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boswell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alena Lopez, who had 29 digs. Lopez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maribel Longspaugh, who had 26 digs.
Meanwhile, North Crowley didn't have quite enough to beat Weatherford on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
North Crowley wouldn't go down easily and took Weatherford into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-19, 25-16, 23-25, 15-12.
Aniyah Kinney put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 12 digs, two kills, and two kills.
Boswell's victory bumped their record up to 15-11. As for North Crowley, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-9.
Everything went Boswell's way against North Crowley in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, as Boswell made off with a 3-0 win. Will Boswell repeat their success, or does North Crowley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
