Volleyball Recap: Kenzie Hooker Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Mount Airy

Surry Central won the last time they faced Mount Airy and things went their way on Monday too. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Granite Bears.

Surry Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenzie Hooker, who had 14 digs and two aces. Hooker has been hot for a while, having also posted 16 or more assists the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Presley Smith, who had 20 digs, 17 kills, and two aces.

Surry Central pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Mount Airy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

Surry Central has already played their next match (against East Surry), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mount Airy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
