Berthoud barely beat Fort Morgan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won four in a row.

Berthoud walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-20, 25-19.

Avery Tychsen paced Berthoud's offense, picking up 11 kills. Tychsen got some help from Libby Wilson and her 21 assists. Wilson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sasha Carter, racking up three apiece.

Berthoud's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Fort Morgan, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berthoud is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Morgan, they will head out to take on Erie at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
