Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Battlefield). Everything went their way against the Osbourn Eagles on Tuesday as they made off with a 25-10 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Olivia Morse looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Jaylen Wright was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Juliana Santoya, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Battlefield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Battlefield now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Osbourn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Battlefield Bobcats duke it out with Brentsville District Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brentsville District will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Battlefield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Osbourn, they will take on Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
