Softball Recap: Jonathan Alder Extends Winning Streak to Four

Jonathan Alder came out on top against Tecumseh on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Pioneers took their matchup against the Arrows 9-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Pioneers, who have now won four contests in a row.

Taryn Miller tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Natalie Neumeier was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Magginis, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Jonathan Alder's record now sits at 12-9. As for Tecumseh, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Jonathan Alder will venture away from home to square off against North Union at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tecumseh, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bellefontaine at 5:15 p.m. The Arrows' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chieftains have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
