Baseball Recap: Attica Wins Going Away Against West Central

Attica made up a huge gap compared to their last game against West Central, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Red Ramblers were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Trojans on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Ramblers considering their two-run performance the match before.

Cullen Driver made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Tristen Miller was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ronnie Matthews, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Attica always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Central only posted an OBP of .367.

Attica's win bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for West Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Attica will welcome Covington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Red Ramblers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for West Central, they will square off against South Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
