Racine Lutheran/Prairie extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Catherine's Angels. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Crusaders have suffered since May 14, 2024.

Eli Gasau made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
As for St. Catherine's, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 3, 2024.
On St. Catherine's side, Stephen Strasweski and Devlyn Kellogg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Strasweski tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kellogg pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. At bat, Strasweski went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Kellogg went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Strasweski has hit this season.
In other batting news, Mariano Talamantez was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Issac Cantu, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
St. Catherine's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-3 defeat against Shoreland Lutheran on the 23rd. Hopefully Racine Lutheran/Prairie paid attention to the Angels' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Angels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
