Softball Game Preview: Tonawanda Timberwolves vs. Griffith Institute Griffins

The Tonawanda Timberwolves will head out on the road to face off against the Griffith Institute Griffins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tonawanda is looking for their season's first victory.

Tonawanda is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Alden on Wednesday, falling 20-9.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Griffith Institute, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over Kennedy on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Griffins, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Erin Baker was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kierstin Crone was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Griffith Institute was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Griffith Institute's record now sits at 6-3. As for Tonawanda, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
