The Toronto Red Knights's five-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They took down Wellsville 54-35. Toronto's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Ashton Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Toronto's points. Tatum Derrington was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Toronto's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Wellsville, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 5-4.
Toronto has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome East Liverpool at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th. East Liverpool is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Wellsville will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Edison at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
