Basketball Recap: Ord Chanticleers vs. Central City Bison
The Ord Chanticleers struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Central City Bison had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Ord fell 44-36 to the Bison. Ord has struggled against the Bison recently, as their contest on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Ord's loss came despite strong showings from Jordan Williams and Talan Bruha. Williams scored 18 points along with five rebounds, while Bruha scored 11 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Central City was led to victory by Colter Lueders and Ayden Zikmund. Lueders scored six points along with 14 rebounds and three steals, while Zikmund scored 18 points along with three steals.
Ord has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Central City, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
Ord will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. on February 5th. As for Central City, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Broncos at 7:30 p.m. Centennial has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
