Soccer Game Preview: Gulf Shores vs. St. Luke's Episcopal

The Gulf Shores Dolphins will square off against the St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Gulf Shores' offense. They came up short against Chattanooga Christian on Friday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Gulf Shores can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 129th in Alabama, while Chattanooga Christian are ranked first in Tennessee).

Meanwhile, St. Luke's Episcopal didn't have quite enough to beat St. Paul's Episcopal on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for St. Luke's Episcopal in their meetings with St. Paul's Episcopal: they've now lost five in a row.

Gulf Shores has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14-3 record this season. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6-2.
