Basketball Recap: Alec Saidian's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crawfordsville over Cascade

On Saturday, the Crawfordsville Athenians opened the new year with a less-than-successful 56-43 defeat to the Cascade Cadets.

Crawfordsville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alec Saidian, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Jacob Lee was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Crawfordsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Cascade, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Crawfordsville will welcome Western Boone at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cascade, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-65 loss against Danville on the 7th.
