Basketball Recap: Fishers Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Fishers and Westfield, and Westfield kept the tradition alive. The Tigers fell 48-40 to the Shamrocks on Friday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Shamrocks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Fishers saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Reagan Reiff shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for Reiff. Delaney Wilson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Westfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lillian Clark, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 16 points. Gabby Bassett was another key player, putting up ten points.

Fishers' defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Westfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Fishers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-30 loss against Zionsville on the 25th. As for Westfield, they have also already played their next matchup, a 74-60 defeat against Pike on the 25th.
