Recap: Maranatha Minutemen vs. Heritage Christian Warriors
The Maranatha Minutemen were the 53-44 winner over the Heritage Christian Warriors when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Maranatha took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Heritage Christian on Tuesday. Maranatha has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Maranatha lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nicholas Khatchikian, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Giacomo Manzella, who scored 11 points.
Maranatha's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Heritage Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maranatha and Valley Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Valley Christian is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Heritage Christian, they will be playing at home against Whittier Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whittier Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 849th, while Heritage Christian is ranked 55th).
