Basketball Recap: Lamar Piles Up the Points Against Houston Math Science & Tech

Lamar won against Bellaire last Friday with 63 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Lamar Texans took their game with ease, bagging a 63-25 victory over the Houston Math Science & Tech Tigers. The Texans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lamar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Mansour, who went 6 of 8 to rack up 14 points and six steals. Those 14 points gave Mansour a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Phoenix Sneed, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

Lamar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 16 consecutive matches.

Lamar is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. As for Houston Math Science & Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

Coming up, Lamar will face off against Cypress Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lamar is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. Houston Math Science & Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
