Soccer Game Preview: New Dorp vs. Wagner

The New Dorp Central Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Wagner Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

On Sunday, New Dorp got the win against Port Richmond by a conclusive 7-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for New Dorp's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wagner). Everything went their way against McKee Vo-Tech on Tuesday as they made off with a 4-1 win. Wagner haven't had any issues with McKee Vo-Tech recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

New Dorp's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Wagner, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

New Dorp beat Wagner by a goal in their previous meeting back in September, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Central Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
