Basketball Recap: El Toro Takes Down Cerritos in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, El Toro rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Cerritos Dons by a score of 66-59.

When it comes to explaining why Cerritos lost, don't look at Jaylen Barsana. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-11 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Barsana is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Benson Cho, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points and six boards.

El Toro's win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Cerritos, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-15.

El Toro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-72 defeat against Capistrano Valley Christian on the 14th. Cerritos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
