Softball Recap: Heritage Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Heritage Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the ALA - Anthem South Titans with a sharp 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Heroes, who have now won 15 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Savana Soltero made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Sieana Soltero was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (five). Rowan Asanovich was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Heritage Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as ALA - Anthem South only posted an OBP of .214.

Heritage Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for ALA - Anthem South, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Heritage Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-6 loss against Mohave Accelerated on the 26th. ALA - Anthem South has also already played their next game (against Phoenix Country Day), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
