Crawfordsville was the 52-45 winner over Western Boone when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Several Athenians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason McCarty, who posted 21 points. The game was McCarty's fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Johnovan Smith, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points along with seven boards and five assists.

Even though they lost, Crawfordsville was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Boone only racked up six assists.
