North Miami had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 21-20 W against the American Patriots. That's more bragging rights for the Pioneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

American's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyron Woods, who picked up 111 receiving yards and one score. Kenneth Duckhart was another key signal caller, throwing for 256 yards and three touchdowns.

North Miami's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for American, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
