Football Game Preview: Horseheads Blue Raiders vs. Union-Endicott Tigers

For the first time this season, Horseheads will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to square off against the Union-Endicott Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horseheads is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Horseheads beat Elmira/Southside 19-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Blue Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Express are ranked 176th).

Meanwhile, Union-Endicott was just a hair shy of victory on Saturday and fell 21-20 to Waverly. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

Horseheads' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Union-Endicott, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.

Everything came up roses for Horseheads against Union-Endicott in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 34-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
