Volleyball Recap: Skyline Falcons vs. Erie Tigers

Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Erie Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Skyline wouldn't go down easily and took Erie into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-12, 23-25, 21-25, 15-9.

Gabriela Medina-Valdez paced Skyline's offense, picking up 28 kills. Medina-Valdez got some help from Lizeth Medina-Valdez and her 37 assists. Paisley Rickman controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Erie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Skyline will face off against rival Mead at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Erie is set to square off against their familiar foe Fairview at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
