Weiss and Nederland squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Weiss had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The Wolves' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Bel Larsen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Anabella Gomez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Weiss' loss dropped their record down to 21-12. As for Nederland, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.

While Weiss had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
