With a playoff win on the line, Orange Grove rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Lytle Pirates 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Eliazar Arias spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hughes Klatt, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Orange Grove's win bumped their record up to 19-10-1. As for Lytle, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 22-12 record.

Orange Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
