Volleyball Recap: Layton Lancers vs. Weber Warriors

Layton lost against Weber back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lancers fell 3-1 to the Warriors. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Layton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 27-25, 25-16.

Weber's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Vivian Cruz led the charge by getting 12 digs and four aces. That's the most digs Cruz has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Tesyn Stewart, who had 12 digs and three aces.

Layton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Weber, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-9.

Coincidentally, Layton and Weber will both be playing Farmington the next time they take the court. The Lancers will head out to face the Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warriors will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
