If Pierce wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Battle Creek, they should've done a better job of containing Sami Wemhoff. The Battle Creek Braves walked away with a 49-39 win over the Pierce Bluejays on Saturday thanks in part to Wemhoff, who shot 4-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.
The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Humphrey, who posted six points. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
The victory made it two in a row for Battle Creek and bumps their season record up to 13-5. As for Pierce, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.
Battle Creek will face off against Boone Central on Friday. As for Pierce, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 40-35 defeat against West Point-Beemer on the 28th.
