Soccer Recap: Bayfield Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Bayfield was not quite Basalt's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 1-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Bayfield of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Bayfield and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Basalt, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bayfield will head out to face off against Grand Junction Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Basalt, they will venture away from home to challenge Roaring Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
