Volleyball Recap: Downingtown East Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Downingtown East, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the North Catholic Trojans on Saturday.

While Downingtown East won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-21.

Molly Drake paced Downingtown East's offense, picking up eight kills. Drake got some help from Maggie Mccabe and her 11 assists. Olivia Ofalt controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Downingtown East pushed their record up to 7-1-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for North Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Downingtown East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Parkland on the 6th. As for North Catholic, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Holy Name at 12:00 p.m. on the 27th.
