Softball Recap: Lanesville Eagles vs. South Central Rebels

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lanesville had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the South Central Rebels. Winning may never get old, but Lanesville sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Makenna Mills made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Mills has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Mills was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Izzie Rawlings and Ellie Schneider did most of the damage at the plate: Rawlings scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Schneider scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

On South Central's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Stepro, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Lanesville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for South Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Lanesville is on the road again on Thursday to play West Washington at 6:00 p.m. Lanesville's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so West Washington's hitters will have their work cut out for them. South Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
