Softball Recap: Northwood Comes Up Short

After a string of three wins, Northwood's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Red River Bulldogs by a score of 14-13. The Gators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 16-6.

Jalen Ambrose made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaya Cornett, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Northwood's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Red River, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Looking ahead, Northwood will venture away from home to square off against Westminster Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Red River, they will head out on the road to take on Bossier at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
