Recap: Banner County Wildcats vs. Leyton Warriors

With a playoff game on the line, the Banner County Wildcats rose to the challenge on Tuesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 54-53 victory over the Warriors. The victory was familiar territory for Banner County who now have three in a row.

Banner County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brendyn Onstott, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Onstott has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nathan McGowan, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Leyton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jonathan Kruse, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Hajek, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten steals.

Even though they lost, Leyton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Banner County only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

Banner County's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Leyton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Banner County will take on Potter-Dix at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Banner County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. Leyton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
