Baseball Recap: Sacred Heart Crusaders vs. Moss Point Tigers

Sacred Heart stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They blew past the Moss Point Tigers 14-4. The win was just what Sacred Heart needed coming off of an 18-1 defeat in their prior game.

Kyron Murphy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also didn't allow any walks). Murphy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Colter Garner and Jack Hasselbring did most of the damage at the plate: Garner scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Hasselbring scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Darren Brown, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Sacred Heart has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Moss Point, they dropped their record down to 3-20 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Sacred Heart will head out on the road to square off against Nanih Waiya at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Moss Point does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
