Softball Preview: Northgate Vikings vs. Dutchtown Bulldogs        
        
		
                                                         The Northgate Vikings are taking a road trip to  challenge the Dutchtown Bulldogs  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Northgate will be strutting in after a  victory while Dutchtown will be coming in after a  loss.
 Northgate took a loss when they played away from home  on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Monday. They walked away with  a   7-4  win over Chapel Hill.
  Mackenzie Khaler was a standout: she scored four  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3.  Ella Oswalt was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Dutchtown entered their  match against McIntosh  on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Dutchtown lost  16-0 to McIntosh. The  game marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.
 Dutchtown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Zari Hand, who  went 1-for-1 with a  stolen base.  Ja'Myiah Walker also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Northgate now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Dutchtown,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at four games  and leaves them with a 4-1 record.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Northgate has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 2.7  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dutchtown struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7.2. The only question left is which team can snag more.
