Volleyball Recap: Bayard Rustin Takes a Loss

Bayard Rustin lost against Unionville back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Golden Knights lost 3-0 to the Longhorns.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20, 25-17.

Ava Theiller paced Bayard Rustin's offense, picking up nine kills. Theiller got some help from Madeline Doherty and her 12 assists. Doherty was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Angelina Zhang was the offensive standout of the game as she had 15 digs and three assists. Those 15 digs gave her a new career-high.

Bayard Rustin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Unionville, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Bayard Rustin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Henderson on the 9th. As for Unionville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Downingtown East on the 8th.
