Basketball Game Preview: Caprock Academy Eagles vs. De Beque Dragons

The Caprock Academy Eagles will take on the De Beque Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Caprock Academy lost 57-36 to Lotus School For Excellence on Friday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask De Beque). They really took it to West Grand for the full four quarters, racking up a 79-43 win. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

De Beque has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Caprock Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Caprock Academy lost to De Beque on the road by a decisive 65-48 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Caprock Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
