Basketball Recap: Joseph Almaraz Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

Wonderful College Prep Academy's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Legacy Christian Academy Lions by a score of 58-50.

Wonderful College Prep Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Almaraz out in front who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Alexis Negrete, who had 13 points.

Wonderful College Prep Academy pushed their record up to 5-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wonderful College Prep Academy will venture away from home to square off against Laton at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Laton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Legacy Christian Academy has already played their next game (against Kings Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
