Basketball Game Preview: Cross Roads Bobcats vs. Martins Mill Mustangs

Cross Roads is 0-9 against Martins Mill since January of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cross Roads Bobcats will head out to take on the Martins Mill Mustangs at 7:45 p.m. Cross Roads has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Cross Roads came up into this matchup off a tough 52-point loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Alba-Golden by a score of 44-41 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bobcats have suffered since February 13, 2024.

Meanwhile, Martins Mill came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bobcats 76-31. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Bobcats are ranked 1179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Martins Mill pushed their record up to 28-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Cross Roads, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Cross Roads was taken down by Martins Mill 76-20 in their previous matchup back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cross Roads was down 36-8.
