Football Recap: Harlan Comes Up Short

Harlan suffered their biggest defeat since August 30, 2024 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 36-6 loss at the hands of the Julian Jaguars. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Harlan dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road losses can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.2 points on average over those games. As for Julian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Harlan will square off against rival Christian Fenger Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Julian is set to face off against their familiar foe Bowen/Baker College Prep at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Jaguars 12.5, the Boilermakers and Bobcats 9) so any points scored will be well earned.
