Volleyball Recap: South Decatur Falls to Southwestern in First Game of Season

South Decatur had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Southwestern Rebels by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

South Decatur started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-12, 15-12.

Southwestern's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, South Decatur will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Knightstown at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Southwestern, they will be taking part in a tournament against Rock Creek Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
