Soccer Game Preview: Cordova vs. Kennedy

The Cordova Lancers will face off against the Kennedy Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cordova's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Cordova's offense. They came up short against McClatchy on Tuesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 855th, while the Lions are ranked 189th).

Meanwhile, Kennedy kept a clean sheet against Antelope on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Titans by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Cordova's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Kennedy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season.
