Baseball Recap: Trinity Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Trinity had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Mount Pleasant Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 4th.

The win (which was Trinity's third in a row) raised their record to 17-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Pleasant, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Trinity will square off against West Stokes on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Mount Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
