Softball Recap: Gulf Shores Starts off Right with Win over Spain Park

Gulf Shores gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Spain Park Jaguars by a score of 8-5. This was payback for the Dolphins, who suffered a 9-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Madi Nelson was incredible, going a perfect2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Neaveh James, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Spain Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Gulf Shores wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-2 loss against Sparkman on the 14th. As for Spain Park, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Austin at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday.
