Baseball Recap: Marysville-Pilchuck Takes a Loss

Marysville-Pilchuck extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 25 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-15 in the process. They lost 11-0 to the Snohomish Panthers. If the Tomahawks were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Marysville-Pilchuck saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Donavan Faulkner, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for Snohomish, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Snohomish's side, Brayden Holscher made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Holscher has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Klein, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Clark, who earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Snohomish will square off against Arlington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Marysville-Pilchuck will be paying especially close attention to Snohomish's matchup: after Snohomish faces off against Arlington, they'll take on Marysville-Pilchuck again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
