Softball Recap: Arlington Beats Citrus Valley for Their Third Straight Victory

Arlington entered their tilt with Citrus Valley on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Citrus Valley Blackhawks, sneaking past 5-3.

Itzel Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Arlington got a massive performance out of Mia Cortez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Cortez's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Pliego, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Arlington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
