Illini Bluffs and Canton are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Little Giants at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Illini Bluffs is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

Illini Bluffs proved they can win big on Friday (they won by eight) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Tremont 2-1.

Illini Bluffs got a great performance from Colton Burdette as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Burdette a new career-high in strikeouts (two).

On the hitting side, Illini Bluffs saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Toby Cooper, who went 1-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Canton's offense. They lost 12-0 to Washington on Monday. The Little Giants have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Illini Bluffs pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.

Illini Bluffs was able to grind out a solid victory over Canton when the teams last played back in May of 2022, winning 6-3. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Little Giants have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
