Pleasant had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-10 to make it eight. They lost 12-2 to the Galion Tigers. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
Faith Staley put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over 4.1 innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Carly Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
As for Galion, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-14. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.
Like Pleasant, Galion also got a great game from a two-way player: Sara Holt. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave Holt a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, Galion let Katelyn Carr and Bianca White run wild. Carr went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while White went 3-for-4 with three runs. Those three hits gave White a new career-high. Maddie Beck was another key player, earning two RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Galion beat Pleasant by a score of 6-0 on Wednesday.
