Basketball Game Preview: Middletown Christian Eagles vs. West Jefferson Roughriders

The Middletown Christian Eagles will take on the West Jefferson Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middletown Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Middletown Christian turned things around against Lockland on Saturday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 51-43.

Meanwhile, West Jefferson was able to grind out a solid win over Yellow Springs on Saturday, taking the game 51-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Roughriders.

West Jefferson's win came from a few key players Middletown Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Austin Buescher, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. He has been hot recently, having also posted three or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Fitzpatrick, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

West Jefferson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in four consecutive contests.

The victory got West Jefferson back to even at 8-8. As for Middletown Christian, their win ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-10.
