Recap: The Villages Charter Buffalo vs. Wildwood Wildcats
The Villages Charter Buffalo won against the Wildwood Wildcats last Friday with 17 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Villages Charter pulled ahead with a 17-16 photo finish over Wildwood. The victory made it back-to-back wins for The Villages Charter.
The Villages Charter can attribute much of their success to Maleek Williams, who rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown.
Loss or not, Wildwood got some senior leadership from Lorenza Simmons who picked up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Alan Means who threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns.
The Villages Charter's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Wildwood, their defeat was their third straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Villages Charter will play host again and welcome Umatilla, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wildwood will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Braden River at 7:00 p.m. on October 31st.
