Recap: Shelby Golden Lions vs. Mount Pleasant Tigers
The Shelby Golden Lions entered their tilt with the Mount Pleasant Tigers with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Shelby took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 62-14 victory over Mount Pleasant. Considering Shelby has won eight matchups by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Shelby found their leader in underclassman Lan Farmer, who threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Tate, who rushed for 117 yards on only seven carries.
Shelby's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Mount Pleasant, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Shelby has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Lincolnton at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. Mount Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
