Southwestern Heights posted their closest win since September 21, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Guymon Tigers. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2023.

Lacie Banman paced Southwestern Heights' offense, picking up 11 kills. Banman got some help from Mariah Mendoza and her 20 assists. Katelyn Reiss controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Southwestern Heights has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for Guymon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Southwestern Heights has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Stanton County on the 6th. As for Guymon, they will head out to face off against Dodge City at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
